AM: I think the lobby heat is causing jungle fever among the kiddies.
Much booty shaking and grinding going on, but this really doesn’t feel
like a dance. Grace is tattooing my hand, and the Sharpie smell is
making me dizzy. But you know what? I’m still really very
much awake. I was reflecting, but since Grace keeps making faces,
it’s difficult. The only time I’ve really gotten sad this evening
was when the closing banquet was first getting underway. I sat
looking at all (most) of the RAs at our table and realized it was gonna
be the end of something great. I’ve felt like I’ve grown a lot,
and stuff. Ok, that train of thought 3:12 AM: Aww, Bret. I’ll write a sad one, but not now. I’m not ready to get sad yet. I wish I was upside-down. It’s too dark though, Jessie’s here. KAW KAW KAW … shhhhh … KAW -“Sounds of the Ocean” by Grace the Great I like the way my mind works half asleep and upside-down. (Yes, I am upside-down again!) Maybe writing a gillion times will make up for me not writing in my journal while I was here… Question of the Day: What is getting jiggy with it? Hmm,
Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey. This album (can I call this an album)
came out when I was in 4th grade, and my friend and I would
dress up and sing along on my computer’s microphone. It was
fun…boring to read about, though. I still do this only I don’t
dress up and now I am allowed to use my dad’s real microphones.
Again, boring. I don’t want to leave. 7 hours though.
Maybe I will go ahead and get sappy now. Na… I am going to cry
though. It’s going to be so weird back at home. Blah.
Okay, I am bored with this for now. 3:38
AM: So, I just recently rejoined the party after filling out an
EXTREMELY long evaluation, only to find that there really isn’t much of
a party left. Only a few brave souls are dancing, and a lot of
people just went upstairs. There’s “purpling” all over the place,
especially in dark corners. Geez, someone should hook me up with a
massage. There has to be a spare one somewhere. Jeff’s over
there busting out his signature moves. Wow, dirty song playing!
It was over before I wrote that, though. Gosh, I can’t believe
we’ve been here for three weeks and this is over already. I was so
apprehensive coming, but now I don’t want to leave. I’m so bad at
staying in touch, which is the sad part. Maybe I can make an extra
special effort. Some of the kids here are so awesome. I hope
I’ll run into them other places. This is getting dull & borderline
sappy, so I’m gonna stop writing. STOP! 3:46
AM: Butterfingers are GREAT! 3:49
AM: I don’t feel too bad, but if I were to lay down, I would go to
sleep. Motor skills declining as well as response time.
Conversation lagging. Spelling and comprehension is terrible.
I am sticky with sweat and desiring a shower. That would be nice. 3:57 AM: Meredith’s GHA Necessity List 1) Black strappy sandals (kitten heels) 2) Nude strappy heeled sandals 3) OPI Mauvelous nail polish 4) Estee Lauder Bronzer 5) Banana Boat Self-Tanner 6) Victoria’s Secret Lipstick 7) Plenty of cute outfits 8) G-Raffe the Stuffed Giraffe Crazy Cowgirl Barbie!
Meredith Loves Will there be Musci-Jessie children? I only hope I had the safe sex talk with them. P.S. Any situation is better with a pina colada that has a cute umbrella. -Meredith 4:10 AM: First rove over and all’s clear. Most people are in the lobby dancing, sleeping, or in other lounges. The key is to not think about sleep and to keep moving. There’s still a dance of sorts. We’re chilling in the office, but apparently I stink of markers now. Don’t know how that could have happened, really. Jeff and I did the first rove—people could be “purpling.” Cause that’s what 17-year olds want to do in the dark. When they’re together. Taking another cue from Mike Burr, the man, I’ll try a haiku. I’m rusty. Red and blue work well. Funky lovin’ happens now— This lounge is too hot. I’m
really rusty. Jessie’s awake, so we’ll probably do another rove
soon. This has helped my consciousness greatly. |
