All Is Quiet On New Year’s Day

The calendar has rolled over to 2016, and I have seldom ever been as ready to start a new year as now. I never truly like to wish time away, and I also try to have no regrets, but 2015 was a real slog at times. Most of the down times could, of course, be attributed to adjusting to new parenthood. But then again, so can most of the year’s highlights, too.

In terms of this blog, 2015 brought a brand new category of posts about parenthood. These also proved to be the most popular, according to the number of times people read them. I know many of you started reading because you enjoy those posts, so you can be sure that I’ll keep the parenting observations coming, as clueless as I seem to be throughout the whole adventure. I will naturally also continue to ramble on about other stuff and life in general (see what I did there?). That’s what this blog has always been, shapeshifting themes to match whatever is going on in my life, and I don’t see that changing.

All that said, what I’m most proud of is that I still kept writing despite my life becoming even busier and having less free time to spread around my many interests. Sure, there was a slide into oblivion toward the latter half of the year, but if anything the time away made me realize how much I look forward to doing this. And that’s thanks to you all and the feedback you give me.

2015 is over, and I won’t dwell on it too much, but below is a list of the top five most-read posts from the old year. As I mentioned above, most of them are parenting-related. Give them another read if you have the time. They miss you.

And until we meet again, Happy New Year! Keep your nose clean.
