So You Want To Know More...
If you want to get a more formalized perspective than what I've written here, feel free to peruse an online
version of my resume (.doc or .pdf)
and a bio sketch I completed for class in January 2004.
Hi, I'm Bret. You might remember me as the guy behind some other pages, like the "Homecoming 1999" photo gallery
or "Ramble On," my blog. It's hard to really give you a feeling as to what I'm like in just one page, so if you're
really that curious, check out my posts and pictures. They'll give you the best general idea. Currently, I'm
beginning a new job in Washington, DC and starting the next great big chapter of my life: living in my own apartment in
Fairfax, VA in my first high-paying,
high-adventure, high-stress real-world environment. One day, I want to be a rock star, living off of the energy of my
fans and traveling from city to city in a big ol' bus. For the time being,
I'll settle for drinking in the cityscape of our nation's capital and
taking advantage of everything this area and this life has to offer. I've got a lot of friends that I'm thankful to have, and I'm
also thankful for my loving, caring family. I also have a very hot and nice girlfriend named Gina; you'll hear a lot about
her elsewhere. Somehow, she still puts up with me.
I graduated from Tolsia High School in Fort Gay, WV (yes, that's where I
grew up. It's the name). I received my BS in ISE from Virginia Tech in May
2005. I lived at the Wesley Foundation, the Methodist Campus Ministry
of Virginia Tech, for four years, and before that, I survived Pritchard
Hall. I've got religion, but not a whole lot of politics. I am a sometime-musician, sometime-writer, and oftentime-photographer
- when I get a chance. I play bass and
acoustic guitar. I enjoy many aspects of pop culture. I like movies, and I like random trivia. I love to read.
